Firas, founder of Rahman Tutoring
About your tutor

Hi, I'm Firas.

I'm an incoming freshman at Vanderbilt University studying Biomedical Engineering. In high school I took 19 AP classes, graduated with a 4.78 weighted GPA, and scored a 36 (Super score) on the ACT. I've spent 6+ months working as a paid math tutor before starting this business.

I tutor K-12 students across all core subjects and specialize in ACT prep — helping students go from wherever they're starting to a score and a set of grades they're proud of.

My approach is simple: figure out exactly where a student is stuck, build a plan around their actual schedule and learning style, and keep them on track week to week. No generic worksheets, no one-size-fits-all curriculum.

How this works

Clear expectations upfront — what's included, what isn't, and how the process runs from start to finish.

Who it's for

Best for rising juniors and seniors applying to U.S. colleges through the Common App. UC, Coalition, and other platforms available upon request.

What is a review?

A review is one complete evaluation of a submitted essay draft, including detailed Google Docs comments on structure, storytelling, voice, and grammar. Students revise independently before submitting another draft.

Revision policy

A revision review begins after the student revises using previous feedback. It does not include unlimited editing, live rewriting, or multiple reviews of the same draft. Revision drafts must be submitted within 30 days of receiving feedback.

Word limits

  • Common App essays: up to 650 words
  • Supplemental essays: included up to 150 words unless otherwise specified
  • Longer supplementals: +$25 each

Delivery & communication

Essay feedback delivered via Google Docs. Meetings held over Zoom or Google Meet. Email support between sessions answered within 24 hours, Monday–Friday.

Payment

Full payment due before services begin. Packages must be used within six months. A 24-hour cancellation policy applies to scheduled meetings.

Student authorship

I provide coaching, strategy, and feedback. Students remain the sole authors of every essay they submit to colleges.
